Africa! Why sighing all day long,
You are afraid of what the devil is doing
You cry and say why is all this happening
Africa! Loud the voice I hear
Yes it's the voice of freedom
Africa! The battle is over.

Africa! You have labored in vain
Yes! Your reward has been turned to others
Your cry of agony God has been hearing

Do away with misery and woe
